concept

A one-minute narrative video that shows my appearance changing rapidly in front of a mirror as if I’m watching my whole life through the mirror. It ends with me covering myself in gasoline and having the mirror version of myself light a match and throw it through the mirror to set me on fire, as the mirror shatters. I wake up gasping for air in a stream: as if I teleported and woke up under-water. This would connect the Guillotine video to the trailer: the version of myself I threw into the river-stream woke up, symbolically as a new person. The objective is to symbolize re-birth/reincarnation while alive, comparing a human being to a Phoenix. Interested to hear your ideas on this, and what you think is doable.

This will be the trailer for my album (Phoenix) and is like a shorter version of the “Complex Simplicity” and “Dreams of a God” narratives you did for Kyle. I’ll record the narrative tomorrow, and update this site with it. This will give us a clearer idea of an exact concept: although I picture the aesthetic as very similar to Guillotine. My budget for this is $500, and I would need to get it done by Dec. 20th.

Video Inspiration

The underwater scenes and effects in this are legendary.

Similar to the mirror concept I’m going for: though not in this type of setup
