PLOTLINE

Follows the doubts, ambitions, and practice routines of a ballroom dancer conflicted about her love between two people: 1) her current male dance partner who provides her predictability, a professional career, and a normal life and 2) a musician (Connor Cassidy): an edgier, more unpredictable, more driven person who would challenge her to embrace her authenticity and bring a higher degree of intensity into her life - an unknown. Inwardly, she feels duality between the real her (an edgy, ambitious girl with tattoos, short hair, & piercings), and the quieter version of herself she feels compelled to be by her partner, job & environment.

Character - an introverted, Ukrainian immigrant that served in the U.S. military, and a Yogi, having learned yogic and meditation practices on her journey to India. She travels internationally to compete in Ballroom dance competitions, and yet is extremely uncertain about most things in her life: she bought a house with money from a job she hates (thus trapping her in it), doesn’t know how to communicate effectively about her feelings, and has dreams beyond being a Ballroom Dancer to become an interior designer, but has no direction about where to start. She feels invincible when dancing, but shy & insignificant in her everyday life.

  • Showing her in a practice studio environment in her training clothes, and then the process of getting her tattoos covered as she transitions into her full dress for a dance competition

  • Sequences of her practicing alone & with her partner
